Position Description

We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to tackle the Company’s day-to-day accounting responsibilities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Finance Lead and Controller, executing daily, monthly and year-end accounting activities, such as recording transactions, preparing journal entries, tracking budgets, and preparing reports. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong basis of accounting and be excited to grow their finance career with a rapidly evolving technology company. 


Duties and Responsibilities

- Enter accounting transactions for procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes

- Prepare accrual and other journal entries with supporting documentation in accordance with best practices

- Prepare monthly fluctuation analyses, roll forward schedules and reconciliations, and financial statement footnotes

- Use accounting knowledge to resolve reconciling items and work to minimize such items on a go-forward basis

- Conduct account analysis and research in support of management budget and actuals reporting

- Support consolidated and/or statutory audits by preparing deliverables and responding to audit inquiries and issues

- Conduct all accounting and reporting activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards

- Responsible for documenting key accounting processes and performing related accounting operation controls; identify ways to build efficiencies into current processes

- Provide cross-training and mentoring with peers; develop fluid working relationships across the Management team and all levels of the organization

- Participate in financial system enhancements and implementations 

- Perform other accounting and financial ad-hoc reporting as directed


Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Accounting

- 2-5 years of work experience in the accounting field 

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; VBA/macro experience strongly preferred

- Familiarity with U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC and other accounting and reporting standard

- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

- Exceptional drive, precision, and attention to detail 

- Motivated to meet deadlines and deliverables with timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency 

- Keen aptitude in dealing with financial and numeric data as well as analyzing data 

- Strong relationship building skills and ability to prioritize workloads; must be a collaborate teammate who is supportive of co-workers and contributes to problem solving

- Interest in the tech sector and innovative computing technology

- Optimism about the potential of societal change through cutting edge technological advances
